Tyler...Josh's cousin

Becky Introduces Tyler...

This page is dedicated to my only nephew Tyler. He was born July 2, 2004 when Joshua was 14. These two worshipped one another. Tyler grieved for Josh more than you’d think a four and a half year old would. He drew a picture and itwill follow and will be explained the way Tyler explains it.

We’ve got some unusual things that happened to Tyler and I hope he’ll keep this page and his only cousin alive in the future.

Tyler’s first dream was that he and Josh were playing hide and seek. They then got in Josh’s Subura and came to our house to hunt creepy crawlers. He was happy with the dream and I do believe that Josh visits him.

He had another dream that the whole family, mom, dad and grandparents with Joshua went to Wall Mart to get their picture taken. Josh and Tyler had done this twice together for Christmas. He said then they came home to my house and he and Josh turned off the lights and went into Josh’s bedroom and watched one of Josh’s old movies and one that Tyler loves now “Toy Story”. He says then after the movie was over they went outside and rode Josh’s four wheeler, which they had done in the past.

Even though, Tyler cries for Josh’s loss, after his dreams he seems happy and says Joshua is always happy too. Tyler always called Josh, Joshua. I guess he just liked saying the whole name.

My sister, Lisa, Tyler and I drove to the end of Riffle’s Run campground where still about a half a mile further was where my grandparents were born and raised. Tyler was trying to fly his kite and the most peaceful feeling settled over me and I saw Josh in my mind and he said, “Watch Tyler.” Was this a sign that Tyler can be a connection?

We were all at my greenhouse working and out of the blue and as natural as can be, Tyler called my mom “Grandma Kay”. It was very strange. This is what Josh always called her. I asked my sister if she’d ever heard him call Mom that before and she said no. This is what Josh called her up until the last couple years. Then he joined in with Tyler and called her Grammy. I’m not sure Tyler ever heard her called Grandma Kay.

Tyler’s birthday was July 2 and he turned five. A magical sketch of him and Joshua appeared in Joshua’s room that morning. We have a guardian angel to thank for this special gift. Tyler loved it and wanted to know where it came from. We told him Joshua sent it to him. He wanted me to email Josh and thank him. This is what it said.

“I love you Joshua. And thanks for the present from Heaven. I look at the clouds all the time but I can’t never see you.”

Tyler associates Josh with the weather sometimes, only he knows why. Once his dad was talking about the rainmaker and Tyler asked if Joshua was the rainmaker. If dark clouds swirl, Tyler says Josh is doing it.

We were in the car coming up our drive way and Tyler said, “There’s Josh” and waved. I said, Where did you see him?”and he said,” In the clouds.”

Last week he spent about six hours with my husband and me. He had a great time and didn’t want to leave when his mom came to get him. She said after they got home she was in her bedroom and could hear Tyler and his dad talking about what he’d done at my house that day. She said suddenly Tyler starting sobbing. She then heard her husband say, “Tyler, it’s okay. We know you miss Josh.” The next day she found all the pictures of Josh she had and made Tyler a “Joshua Book” and tied it with a red ribbon. That evening she gave it to Tyler and he was thrilled. He looked through it over and over.

Tyler stole his mom’s purple pillow to sleep with because he says when he gets sad about Josh he needs it. But recently I was gathering Josh Make a Wish toys to donate to the pediatric’s at Ruby Memorial. Tyler helped and replaced the purple for Josh’s Tweety Bird.

----------

The other day Tyler was at Mom’s and she said she looked over and his nose was right up against Josh’s picture. He looked up and asked, “Grammy can I have a pencil and paper?”

He drew Josh’s face and wrote his name at the bottom.

He tells my mom that he misses Josh and just don’t know why he can’t visit him.

He told his mom that he lost his two best friends. She ask him who and he said, “Joshua and Uncle Bob. I wish I could go to Heaven and we’d all be together.”

"I saw Joshua and Duke. Sash wasn't there. She must've been asleep." Tyler said to Grammy.

"Where did you see him Tyler?"

"In the clouds."

After my Uncle's death, we gathered at his house with the cousins we grew up with. So even thugh Tyler really didn't know this Uncle, he was listening to everyone else talk about death. He told his mom on the way home afterwards, "Ten people just died."

"Like who Tyler?"

"Joshua and he was the best one!"

Then he went on and named different pets he knows that has died.
